Concerns and Expectations – Swedes' feelings and thoughts on Europe

In 2017 and late 2018, the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation together with the opinion research institute Policy Matters conducted representative surveys in eleven European countries. The objective was to explore people’s feelings and ideas related to the European Union. So, which are the Swedes` attitudes towards the EU? What do they think about the division of labor between Brussels and the member states? How do they assess the relations with other countries?

Insights into research results were presented by Richard Hilmer, director of Policy Matters and head of the survey, followed by comments from Mika Domisch, International Secretary at the Swedish Confederation of Professional Employees and Lisa Pelling, Chief Analyst at Arena idé. The events was a cooperation between Arena Idé and the Friedrich-Ebert-Foundation for the Nordic Countries.
